Born in a stable

Laid in a stall

Gave truth to the word

Shepherds who hastened

Down from their watch

Saw all that occurred

 

Born on the East Side

Born on the West Side

Born on a prayer

Bearing a gift

To each of His people

He'll be right there

Shepherd take care

 

Don’t imagine when you see Him

He won’t see right through that good intent

Maybe an Amish

Out on His own

He's biding his time

When it's over don't imagine

That the Superstar will suffer fools
