FIRST LOVE (GROWING PAINS)
The lonely youngster on the wide open road
He walked for miles and thought his head would explode
Well he was just turned sixteen
And life had treated him rough
And sure he vented his spleen
Cos he had so had enough
He chose the wrong door
It wasn't his fault
It left his wounds raw
And rubbed in more salt
It wasn't good
The lonely girl upon the wide open track
She walked for miles and swore she'd never turn back
Well she was just turned sixteen
And life no bundle of fun
She sought a whole change of scene
Or else her venom would run
She felt a tight noose
It was a slow death
She had to fight loose
Or draw her last breath
It wasn't good
At last they came towards a point on the map
Between the two of them was hardly gap
Guess it was love at first sight
And so incredibly strong
That they made love all that night
Until the dawn came along
He squeezed her real tight
But he was headstrong
And in the headlight
He got it all wrong
But it was good
They were too young and that spelt trouble for sure
They didn't want to have no truck with the law
And so the very next day
With all the money they had
They made their way to L.A.
Which they thought couldn't be bad
They knew they had rights
To start a new life
Where there'd be new lights
And there'd be less strife
And it felt good
He was too young to get a job as a clerk
But as a drudge he soon got plenty of work
They used the money they had
To make a home of their own
She bore him twins and a lad
They never looked for a loan
She was his first love
She was his best love
It was to last long
Their love was that strong
And life was good
Well there's a moral when your life's not so cool
Get off your butt and hurry out of the school
Don't go expecting no buck
Don't go expecting no dues
Though you may run out of luck
You sure have nothing to lose
Go write a brief note
Go leave that cold sack
Go get that slow boat
Go hit that fast track
Till things turn good
She was his first love
She was his best love
It was to last long
Their love was that strong
And it was good
